Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to coordinate meetups:

• • Phone number - for SMS notifications (with your explicit consent)
• • Location - when using the app, and potentially in the background for future features
• • Activity participation - which vibes you join or create
• • Contact permissions - to connect you with friends (optional)

How We Use Your Information

• • Send SMS notifications about vibes you've joined
• • Match you anonymously with others interested in the same activities
• • Show nearby vibes on your map
• • Connect you with friends who also use float (if permitted)

Privacy & Anonymity

When using float, vibes can be created and joined anonymously. Identities are revealed only when vibes reach critical mass. However, vibe creators can choose to share links directly, potentially revealing their identity.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:

• • With other float users in the same vibes (at critical mass)
• • To comply with legal requirements
• • With service providers who help operate float (under strict agreements)
• • In anonymized, aggregate form for analytics

Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Vibes data expires based on their timeframe. You can request deletion at any time.

Your Rights & Controls

• • Opt-out of SMS anytime by texting STOP
• • Request data deletion via email
• • Control location permissions through device settings
• • Delete your account and all associated data

Cookies & Tracking

We use minimal cookies for session management. We don't use third-party tracking cookies or advertising networks.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

float is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

International Users

float operates primarily in the United States. By using float, you consent to data transfer and processing in the US.

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified via SMS (for opted-in users) and in-app notices.
